Grace - Impossible to Doubt

"When he puts the golden tokens of his grace into our palms, he accompanies the gift with such a warm pressure of our hand, that the manner of his giving is as precious as the boon itself... It is impossible to to doubt the sincerity of his charity, for there is a bleeding heart stamped upon the face of all his benefactions" - Charles Spurgeon

Let Us Not Grow Familiar

rejoicing in the astounding truth proclaimed in Psalm 103

Our God is holy.
Our Savior forgives, heals, and redeems us.
He crowns us with steadfast love and mercy.
He satisfies and renews us.
He is merciful and gracious and removes our transgressions from us.
He is a compassionate father who knows
and remembers us…

AND it is this God who is on the throne
and it is his kingdom that rules over ALL
... rules over me

“Labour to maintain a sense of thine entire dependence upon the Lord’s good will and pleasure for the continuance of thy richest enjoyment… O Lord Jesus, we bow at Thy feet, conscious of our utter inability to do anything without Thee” - Spurgeon

Prone to Wander - Trust, Delight, Commit

O to grace how great a debtor daily I'm constrained to be! Let thy goodness like a fetter, bind my wandering heart to thee. Prone to wander Lord I feel it, prone to leave the God I love. Here's my heart, O take and seal it, seal it for thy courts above.
- Come Thou Fount

Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and befriend faithfulness. Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will act.
- Psalm 37:3-5

Waiting in Abounding Hopefulness

“Above everything, when you wait on God, do so in the spirit of abounding hopefulness. It is God in His glory, in his power, in his love longing to bless you the you are waiting on.”

"O God! teach us, above everything, the blessed lesson, that all the day, and every moment of it, You are around and within us, working out Your work of love. Show us that You only ask of us that we wait on You. And so teach us to say, 'ON YOU DO I WAIT ALL THE DAY.'"

Abide in the Light

"Those beautiful trees and flowers, with all this green grass, what do they do to keep the sun shining on them? They do nothing; they simply bask in the sunshine, when it comes. The sun is millions of miles away, but over all that distance it sends its own light and joy; and the tiniest flower that lifts its little head upwards is met by the same exuberance of light and blessing as flood the widest landscape... The only difference between nature and grace is this; that what the trees and flowers do unconsciously, as they drink in the blessing of the light, is to be with us a voluntary and loving acceptance. Faith, simple faith in God's word and love, is to be the opening of the eyes, the opening of the heart, to recieve and enjoy the unspeakable glory of His grace. And even as the trees, day by day, month by month, stand and grow into beauty and fruitfulness, just welcoming whatever sunshine the sun may give, so it is the very highest exercise of our Christian life just to abide in the light of God, and let it, and let Him, fill us with the life and brightness it brings." - Waiting on God by Andrew Murray
